如果有~/.ssh/config文件，则需要对ssh url 使用 ：

git clone debian:gitolite-admin.git

使用如下配置：

host debian
  user gitolite
  hostname debian
  identityfile ~/.ssh/gitolite
  port 2222

并且您不应该指定回购的完整路径。
